How long
will it take to get a finished resume?
Our goal is to have your resume in your hands
within three working days from our receipt of the completed template.
Any requested changes will add a few extra days.
Who will
write my resume?
The resume format will be selected by a consultant
who has a minimum of five years experience. They will also review the
finished resume to ensure it meets our exacting standards before it is
sent to you.
Do resume styles change over time?
A resume style that may have been popular in good
times may not be the best when the job market becomes challenging. Just
as change in the stock market is reflected in the way people dress for
work, resume styles change with the economy and those that are “in sync
with the times” are more likely to generate a positive response and
interviews.
Why do you have different resume formats and
how do you choose which to use?
Some people have a wealth of work experience;
others may be new to the job market. Some have many achievements,
others less. Some will have had one or two jobs, others many different
jobs. Resumes will differ in order to present each person in the best
light based on their personal history.
Do you have a guarantee if I am not happy with
the resume?
Send it back to us with 30 days of receipt with
your comments and we will make changes, but we also ask you to trust our
judgment as resume writing and coaching is what we do. At the end of the
day we want you to be happy and employed.
Does it matter what my work experience is?
A resume is a resume, is a resume. It does not
matter if you are a student, a president, a boilermaker or a baker, the
information you provide will enable us to create a personal resume just
for you.
You say that 90% of resumes do not work, why is
that?
If a hiring manager sees 50 resumes a day and takes
three minutes for each review that is 150 minutes or two and a half
hours. If you consider the time to log on to different internet job
sites, set up a search and add a break for a coffee and then factor in
the odd interruption, and you could be up to four hours, or half a day.
Resumes, therefore, are not read, just reviewed, and the wandering eye
looks for specific items. If they are there, the resume will make the
call/interview pile, if they are not, the resume is gone in seconds. As
we know what the wandering eye is searching for, we can dramatically
increase the odds of your resume making the call/interview pile.
If I choose a coaching package, how does that
work?
We will arrange by email a convenient time for a
telephone call. A list of the subjects you would like to talk about
would be most helpful. A senior consultant will call you as arranged and
the time is marked off in minimum of 10 minute sections. Because the
conversation is focused and strictly business, a lot of ground can be
covered quickly.
After I choose a service option and place an order
what happens?
You will receive confirmation of your order and a link to a
resume template. Complete the template and email back to us. Don’t
forget to send us your present resume if you have one. The more
information we have, the easier it is for us to create your personal
resume.
